The World and The Afterlife

Updated: Sep 26, 2018

Keep absolute faith in God, as He is the One who created everything. It is better to sleep through the night with total trust in God than to wake up in the middle of the night for prayers, doubting if they are even heard. When people praise you in your presence, pray that you become better than what they think of you, and that God forgives you for the mistakes that they do not know. This world and the Hereafter are on two separate paths for those who are engrossed in worldly desires are far removed from the Afterlife. The two are as separate as East and West; come close to one, and you will find yourself further from the other, unless you spend your life in this world for the sake of the Hereafter.

Seek protection from knowledge that does not benefit your status in the Afterlife, from a heart that has no fear and love for God, from the lower self that is never satisfied, and from a prayer that is never answered. Always repent when you make a mistake, for God is the Most Forgiving and All-Knowing. The more gratitude you show Him, the more He will bless you with ease.

We fear humans, and then we expect a lot from them, which only deepens our fear. We do not fear God nearly as much as we fear an ordinary human being. Fear of ordinary humans runs constantly through our hearts, while we only haphazardly perform the injunctions of God Almighty. Attaining worldly riches brings us happiness, and when we receive such things we behave as if they will last forever, a feeling which only brings about sadness within us when we lose these things. This is why the happiness and sadness we feel in this life is of no use to us. We should feel such happiness and sadness when we gain or lose things pertaining to the life to come.

Therefore, if you do attain something valuable in this life, do not be sad when you lose it, instead, turn your attention to the life to come and turn your thoughts to it, as everything happens with the will of God.

Await the aid of God with the help of prayer and patience. We truly are a very sinful people, but we must still never despair of the mercy of God. Seek forgiveness from God and have firm belief that you are not alone; God is closer to us than our jugular veins. It is no doubt through the remembrance of God that our hearts find peace, and those who remember God are themselves remembered by God. Whether we like it or not, the journey of our lives is traveling straight to God. The days, the months, the years, each of them brings us closer and closer to the Almighty, and our meeting with Him has been ultimately set. Therefore, focus all your attention towards preparing for this meeting.

We ask God to forgive us our sins and for the ability to travel the straight path.
